June Cleaver for Veep?? Hold on... there may be more to this story...

I've been listening to NPR on and off today as I've been slaving away at my computer. The more I hear about and from Sarah Palin, the more I keep waiting for her to say, "Oh, Ward, don't you think you're being hard on the Beaver?"
The thought has crossed my mind ever since Palin's nomination that either the Republican machine is having a major meltdown, or those cagey bastards are up to something. Surely they can't be deluded enough to think Palin would actually attract a serious "female vote" - feminists would certainly not be interested, nor would any woman with a functioning brain. The only women that might be impressed are the ones who would have voted for McCain anyway. So, what the hell?
Just minutes ago I got an email from a friend with a rather interesting theory. Please note - I don't know where this originated, but it certainly smells Rove-ian at the very least - see what you think:
--------------------
People in the know have come up with a well-planned theory regarding Ms. Palin as VP. It makes sense and shows that the republican machine is up and running smoothly.
McCain has no intention of having Sarah Palin as VP. In a few weeks, not more than a month, she will announce that the demands of campaigning and of actually being the VP if elected, will be too much for a woman who has a downs syndrome baby and a pregnant daughter. She will drop out and Romney will take her place.
Compared to Palin, Romney is a god and even all the conservatives who don't like him because of gay marriage in Massachusetts will be ecstatic. And, just like the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake, Romney will be stepping in to save the day. Republicans get credit for having a woman on the ticket and trying to help break that glass ceiling. McCain will jump 20 points in the polls. Ms. Palin will get the post of Secretary of the Interior for her trouble, which then opens the door for Alaskan wilderness drilling.
Yep, as you read this, McCain and Romney and Karl Rove are sitting in a room watching the press go nuts over Palin and saying to each other, "How stupid do they think we are?"
---------------------
The sad fact is that these guys have been relying on the gross stupidity of the American public for several years now, and the public hasn't let them down yet.
Stay tuned. Will it really be June? Or the Mormon Mannequin? Or perhaps the real Darth Vadar this time? Only Karl Rove knows...
You know... i was thinking the same thing, except that because of the ongoing investigation she would disqualify herself (or be refused) and then Romney or worse, Cheney be VP.
